An interesting factor in this treatment is its association with a superficial fluoridation of the newly exposed enamel,to protect it from the risks of ulterior chemical attack. Détartrine with fluoride is presented in the form of a white paste with a pleasant taste. Zirconium oxide, the polishing agent, is particularly interesting because of its fineness and hardness. It rapidly shines enamel, metallic restorations, acrylics and dental cements and at the same time completes the action of the mechanical and chemical scaling giving the denture a particularly pleasant aspect greatly appreciated by patients.
